no surprises
wednesday afternoon, around 3:45, the rains arrived. and i think they've brought their bags with them and are planning to stay a while. though i outwardly complain about this, i'm eager for the excuse to stay inside and write, to develop that coffee habit, to utilize the fireplace as it was meant to be.ruthie & katie are moving out this weekend - making their own place in irvington. tonight, ruthie was in the living room, and i was going through our myriad towels, trying to sort them out - and i found this old dented can of beets. it just seemed fitting, because before we even really knew ruthie, we hid this same can of beets in her room. and so on and so forth it went, for the next year and a half. sometimes the beets would sit in their hiding place for months at a time, waiting to be found. in a knitting bag, in a backpack, in a satchel, in a pillow case, in the shower, next to the toothpaste, in a sleeping bag, under a bed, in a bookcase.
i don't really know what else to say about this; for some reason that damn can of beets is the only thing i can think of to describe the way i'm feeling right now.

That's funny, me and kempe have been playing the same game for the past year, only with a bug transformer (robot in disguise). On both occasions he slipped it in my bag when i flew to oregon. Sometimes I put it in his food.
To clarify my lesson in contrast. My desicion to depart still remains. The contrast was more between christianity and drinking as religion. Its probably not the reason to be motivated but going to a sketchy holloween party reinforced my faith. Meanwhile, Ted Swaggered buys meth and reinforces the image of christians as hypocrites.
that's how i feel too. they were supposed to be found that night.
